An attempt at self care turned a passion for art.

My story.

Nicky is a first generation mexican american ceramic artist based in Southern California. She is a full-time environmental planner by day who creates functional ceramicware in the evenings and on the weekends. Her work style blends precise shapes with organic textures and colorways.

Nicky’s ceramic journey began as an attempt to spark joy. Upon taking beginner pottery classes at community studios, her interest in clay quickly became an obsession.

I’m so excited to share my pieces with you. I hope you enjoy using them each and everyday. I’ve designed my pieces to look lovely on the shelf and to also withstand daily use. No mug, bowl, or trinket dish is reserved for ‘special occasions’. Each and everyday is special in its own right. I hope these pieces bring a smile to your face and elevate your daily rituals.

Thank you so much for supporting my ceramic journey!

XO Nicky

Inspiration.

My functional stoneware is inspired by the effortless elegance of nature. The iron in my clay carries through glazes leaving an array of beautiful brown speckles, rendering each piece 100% unique.

The colorways I select are primarily neutrals (i.e., whites, browns, creams, and greys) while pops of color are designed to mimic water, greenery, and stone.
